CNN anchor Erin Burnett weathered a harrowing situation on the air Tuesday night, as the veteran broadcaster was forced to take shelter from incoming Iranian missiles during a live broadcast in Tel Aviv, Israel.

During a live interview with the Jerusalem Center for Security & Foreign Affairs' Dan Diker, Burnett pointed out that she could see Israeli interceptors launching into the sky from behind him, with warning sirens blaring through the night sky moments later.**** The scary situation came days after President Donald Trump and Israeli forces launched an attack on Iran, which ultimately killed the country's controversial leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and reignited major military conflict in the region.

"Okay, now we hear the sirens," Burnett said, springing into action alongside Diker as they quickly moved to go inside. "You saw that interceptor. It didn't intercept anything, but we have things coming in, so we are just going to un-mic."

Burnett advised Diker that they "do need to move pretty quickly," as they rushed inside, switching cameras to document the move.**

"So, you hear the sirens now. This is all around the area," Burnett said as she switched to a mobile shot, speaking into a handheld microphone. "That initial warning, I think it was about five or six minutes. Let's just keep going."

The anchor told the audience, "We'll hear the booms when they start hitting." She later confirmed that she heard the incoming missiles make contact after she and Diker took up perch inside a stairwell in the high rise building from where they reported.

"I think it's important for everyone to understand this is what's become the cadence of normal life. Here we are now in the stairwell, so this is where we're going to go, obviously concrete fortified," Burnett assured, speculating that the barrage was the result of ballistic missiles launched from Iran.

Burnett confirmed, "I can hear all of it right now. People can't hear it probably on our mic. We're going to show you afterward, but I can hear it all hitting right now." She added it was unclear "whether it's being intercepted or not" by Israeli forces.

She finished the thought by telling viewers that "it has completely disrupted life here" for Israeli citizens.

Trump's military action on Iran has drawn widespread criticism. In the entertainment sector, *The View* cohosts have spoken out about the attacks during this week's broadcasts. "The bottom line is this is an illegal war, this is an unconstitutional war, only Congress can wage war and declare war. That's the first thing," panelist Sunny Hostin alleged on Monday's show. "This is an illegal war, this is a presidential war."

A White House official declined to comment on the record to EW.
