After a complicated cliffhanger at the end of the first season of Not Suitable for Work, which quickly gained a huge positive impact due to its fresh storyline, viewers have been eagerly waiting to see how the storyline unfolds in the next season.

In a previous interview with Deadline, Mindy Kaling, the executive producer and creator of this series, revealed that the “writers’ room has been up for Season 2”. However, it is now revealed that Hulu will not be continuing the series, and it has been cancelled.

She also added that Not Suitable for Work’s pilot was written by Mindy Kaling with the goal of making this series “run for 10 seasons”. A ten-season run would have given them “enough freedom to play” and not “aggressively arced out”. As the series is set in a time that does not have any restrictions regarding time, there was a possibility of following the lives of the characters for a long period of time.

While speaking about the storyline of the second season for Dave’s character, the second season notes that Dave “needs to be validated” for his actions. There would have been a significant focus on making Dave continue his “evolution” as the series progresses.
