Kelsea Balleriniās two exes, Chase Stokes and Morgan Evans, appear to be in a war of words after the latter of the two stars appeared on Netflix's Bobby Bones Presents: The BobbyCast, and opened up about his public divorce from the āI Sit In Parksā singer.
According to People, earlier this week, while promoting his upcoming deeply personal album, Steel Town, on the podcast, Evans recalled the āstages of griefā he went through following his split from Ballerini after five years of marriage.
Morgan Evans Says His Divorce From Kelsea Ballerini Went Super Quick
āIt all happened super quick,ā Evans, 40 ā who is currently in a relationship with Laci Kaye Booth ā told Bones on the March 3rd episode while discussing the divorce, which was finalized in November 2022.
āFrom finding out [a divorce] was what Kelsea wanted to do to getting a lawyer, and having a prenup, and having three or four calls with a lawyer, signing the documents in the parking lot of the Ryman Auditorium in the rain to going home, it all happened in three or four months.ā
Evans went on to say he āwas not expecting the conversationā about wanting a divorce, adding that āmaybe that was me being naive, but I definitely wasnāt expecting it, it took me by surprise.ā
Chase Stokes Reacted to Morgan Evansā Interview
Bones later shared a portion of the interview on his Instagram page, which prompted a strong reaction from Stokes, 33, who had been in an on-and-off-again romance with Ballerini, 32, since 2023.
āThis is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity I've ever seen," the Outer Banks actor wrote, reacting to the clip. "Get a fāing life.ā
Stokes has since taken down his remark, but that hasnāt stopped others from entering the conversation.
Bobby Bones Responded to Chase Stokesā Reaction
Bones reacted by sharing the comment in a video post on Instagram, writing alongside it: āSorry for the curse word. Got this comment regarding my interview with Morgan Evans. Just wanted to say a couple of things.ā
āFirst of all, it was put up, and then it was taken down,ā Bones said in the video, posted on Wednesday, March 4, explaining that he had seen Stokesā comment.
āIf youāre going to come that hard, maybe donāt take it down⦠in my heart, I just wonder why certain people can talk about things and other people canāt.ā
He added, referencing his interview with Evans, the singer only spoke about his divorce, highlighting a small portion of his upcoming album, as he was talking about everything he had gone through in recent years.

āThere are two stories, right? Thereās his story, her story, and the real story,ā Bones said.
Morgan Evans Has Broken His Silence
Now, Evans appears to have broken his silence.
On Instagram, the singer/songwriter seemingly fired back at Stokesā āmasculinityā comment with a tongue-in-cheek response.
āFeeling pretty masculine today. Album out in 2 weeks!ā He wrote alongside a post, showing himself doing stereotypically āalpha maleā activities in photos, from carrying a refrigerator to chopping wood with an axe.
āI laughed,ā Bones captioned below Evansā post, while other fans applauded his response.
āThis is the perfect clap back. šš»šš»,ā one fan wrote while another added, āOmg, I love you! This is the best clap back! šš¤£.ā
āš„š„š„ Hahahahahah, now that is how you respond to negativity. Love it. ā¤ļø,ā a third follower added.
Before appearing on Bonesā podcast, Evans had largely remained silent about his divorce from Ballerini. Now more open about the experience, he admitted that looking back on that time feels surreal.
āThat whole time was a blur,ā he said. āIt almost feels like someone else, just from where Iām sitting now.ā
Evans upcoming sophomore album, Steel Town, is due out March 20.
