Love Island USA's Alannah Keyser is speaking out after her removal from Casa Amor.
Peacock confirmed to PEOPLE on Thursday, June 25 that the 21-year-old dating show contestant would no longer appear on season 8 following its 20th episode. Her departure followed a resurfaced video circulating online, which appeared to show her using a racial slur while singing along to a song.
On Saturday, June 27, the film student shared an apology video to TikTok, addressing both the resurfaced clip and additional "screenshots" that circulated online alleging she used racial slurs on social media. Before her departure, Keyser was briefly paired up with fellow islander Zach Georgiou in Casa Amor ahead of his eventual solo return to the villa.
“I’m coming on here to address some things that have been circulating online,” Keyser said. “I do want to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it, that was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore."
Keyser then addressed "screenshots that have been going around online," which she alleged had been "falsified."
"What has been shared does not reflect the truth, and it’s never been in my character to discriminate against anybody’s skin color," she said. “I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have."

She added that when she "first found out that these things were going around online," it "really broke my heart" and she "couldn’t do anything about it."
"But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me, and it sucks that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am," she concluded, before vowing to "spread positivity" in an additional message at the end of her video.

The resurfaced video she referenced appeared to show her singing along to Roddy Ricch's 2019 song "The Box," which contains the N-word in its lyrics.
Ahead of the season 8 premiere, another contestant, Vasana Montgomery, was removed from the cast after videos resurfaced that appeared to show her using the N-word. PEOPLE confirmed her exit on May 30.
“I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently resurfaced,” Montgomery, 25, wrote in an Instagram Stories statement on June 3. “In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry. I am embarrassed and disappointed by my words. I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people."
Last year during season 7, contestant Yulissa Escobar departed the show after videos resurfaced of her using the N-word in podcast clips. She later issued a public apology as well. Later that season, contestant Cierra Ortega's past use of racial slurs targeting Chinese people resurfaced online and she exited the series between episodes due to a “personal situation.” She later apologized on social media.
Love Island USA season 8 airs at 9 p.m. ET Thursdays through Tuesdays on Peacock.
