Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon less than a week after her Golden Globe win for One Battle After Another, Teyana Taylor leaned back into her musicality with her first televised performance in years. And for the special occasion, the actor-slash-singer brought not one, but two show-stopping looks to New York City.

For the interview portion of the segment—where Taylor discussed her latest album Escape Room and her new action-thriller film The Rip, which was released yesterday on Netflix—the star joined Fallon on stage in a grey Mugler look from the label’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Styled by duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, the dress was designed with a silky long-sleeve base, over which a matte halter-neck crop top and matching midi skirt with hip pads were layered. Altogether, the pieces created an exaggerated, drop-waist silhouette, and the coordinating thigh-high leather square-toe boots extended the monochrome look all the way down to the ground.

Later, Taylor kept on the shoes to perform her song “Hard Part” with Lucky Daye, but changed into a striking cream number, constructed entirely from a surprising—and fitting—material. Designed by London-based artist Maximilian Raynor, the wool gown was sculpted from up-cycled piano waste courtesy of Hainsworth Signature Fabrics. Mirroring the shape of traditional armor but in a fluid, fragile state, the dress balanced structure with softness and restraint with intimacy, reflecting the themes of the emotional ballad the artists performed.

Raynor called the experience a “pinch me moment” and thanked Taylor on Instagram for supporting emerging designers, writing, “couldn’t have had a better person wear this dress.”
