Earlier this month, Karoline Leavitt made the decision to step down as the White House press secretary, leaving many shocked. The decision was allegedly linked to Donald Trump’s decoy plane incident in Turkey in July 2026. With no potential successor in mind, the POTUS is reportedly furious at her for choosing her family over him.
David Pakman, a political commentator, shared his views on his podcast, explaining what loyalty means to the 80-year-old. He added that every comment aimed at Leavitt is resentment disguised as a joke.
Expert Claims Donald Trump is ‘Greatly Resentful’ of Leavitt Over Her Resignation
On August 24,the White House welcomed students to the Rose Garden in celebration of the upcoming school year. During the event, he expressed his gratitude to his administration members, such as Linda McMahon, Jim Pillan, Sarah Huckabby Sanders, Tim Wahlberg, and Karoline Leavitt.
“And our press secretary and mother of two. And well, she decided she loved her children more than she loved Donald Trump. I’m very upset about this,” he said of Leavitt. “She has to go home and spend time with her children. That does happen on occasion with some people when they love their children. And she does.”
Trump then congratulated him on her newborn daughter’s birth, calling her a “perfect newborn.” He praised her, saying that she had done a fantastic job and had been a “great, great press secretary,” even calling her the “best of all time.” Though it has not been announced, it is rumored that Natalie Harp, Trump’s close aide, would betaking over the role.
During an episode of the David Pakman Show, host David Pakman explained how Karoline Leavitt’s exit took Donald Trump by surprise. He claimed Trump was taken aback when he learned that she was more “loyal” to her own children than to him.
Pakman said, “And even when Trump presents this as sort of a joke, the joke reveals Trump’s understanding of loyalty.” He then played Trump’s interview on Fox News, stating that his playful remarks showcase his true feelings about her exit. He explained that looking at the POTUS’ expressions and demeanor, he appears unhappy and “looks genuinely resentful.”

David Pakman Explains Trump’s Definition of ‘Loyalty’
In one of the recent episodes of theDavid Pakman Show, Pakman pointed out that several senior administration members have left Trump’s side. He remarked that calling the POTUS’ second term chaotic would be a “very serious understatement.”
But Karoline Leavitt’s exit has allegedly angered him the most, as Pakman played the clip of Trump talking about hispress secretary’s exit on Fox News. The host noted, “Trump sort of like, how could it be that she prefers her kids to me?” He continued that the president can’t accept that his administration members are “more devoted” to someone else over him.
He called Leavitt one of the most loyal supporters of Trump, backing him during the press briefings and attacking journalists over their criticism of the Commander-in-Chief. The political commentator claimed that there were different reasons people had left his side, as some were fired, while others resigned, and some departures were predictable.
“There’s a whole bunch of different reasons, but the cumulative picture is extraordinary. Turnover is kind of built into Trump’s management system. The demand is absolute loyalty,” Pakman pointed out. “ Meanwhile, Trump creates constant chaos. He publicly humiliates his appointees, and then he replaces them when they become inconvenient. And so people are at the same time indispensable and completely disposable.”
