Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are reuniting nine years after the end of the beloved CW drama to star in the Hulu series *You Deserve to Know*, based on the 2025 thriller book of the same name by Aggie Blum Thompson. The actors will executive produce as well as star in the upcoming adaptation.

Per the official logline,* You Deserve to Know *"follows three suburban couples — next door neighbors and best friends. When one of their husbands is murdered, a shocking trail of secrets is revealed, and their friendship cracks wide open."

As fans may recall, Dobrev and Wesley played Elena and Stefan on *The Vampire Diaries*, portraying a couple who become entangled in a love triangle when Elena falls for Stefan's brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

Welsey remained on the show for its duration, while Dobrev appeared in the first six seasons before returning for the series finale.

'Vampire Diaries': Nina Dobrev Reflects on Her Time on the Show and a 'Bittersweet Ending'

Dobrev announced the new show on Instagram. "I’ve been waiting to share this one. ❤️," she began her caption.

"@paulwesley and I are reuniting to executive produce and star in ‘You Deserve to Know’. We fell in love with this novel and getting to help shape its adaptation from both sides of the camera has been incredibly exciting. So grateful to our partners at @hulu, @unwell, @alexandracooper and @kapital_entertainment. Let’s do this!!!!! 🚀🚀🚀."

She added a picture of the announcement on her Instagram Stories, writing: "Some things refuse to stay buried."

Fans were excited to see the actors onscreen together again. "OMG!!!!! ELENA AND STEFAN REUNION!!!!!!! Not literally Elena and Stefan but OMG!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍," one wrote. "Finally, after a long wait, I'm so excited to see you all together again🥺♥️," another chimed in.

"Epic full circle moment. Love to see it 👏👏," said a third.

Dobrev spoke about working with Wesley in a 2019 episode of the *Directionally Challenged* podcast hosted by fellow *Vampire Diaries *alum Kayla Ewell. Early on while working on the drama series, Dobrev said she and Wesley didn't get along. "I respected Paul Wesley; I didn’t like Paul Wesley," she noted.

Dobrev said that one day Wesley approached her, saying, "'Ten years from now when we’re not on this show, you’re going to really miss me. Like you’re going to miss these times and you’re gonna look back and this is gonna be the good ol’ days and we’ll appreciate each other in 10 years.'"

Looking back, she said that Wesley was "so f--king right." "We ended up getting to a good place and it was fine, but of everyone, I think I probably see him the most and hang out with him the most [now]. We’re probably the closest, like, we hang out a lot and we’re really good friends and I love his wife. It’s so funny how much has changed because I never thought that he would be one of my best friends.”
