War is an HBO legal drama that features Sienna Miller and Dominic West as an estranged couple going through a contentious divorce

War doesn’t hold back from showing the high stakes of a tumultuous divorce.
The HBO legal drama, which premiered on Oct. 1, stars Sienna Miller and Dominic West as estranged spouses Carla and Morgan Henderson, who are going through a nasty divorce in the public eye. At the same time, their high-profile lawyers at firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne are also battling it out in “a ruthless world where ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy and winning is everything.”
In addition to Miller and West, the first season also stars Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne, James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor, Archie Renaux as Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, Nina Sosanya as Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi and Pip Torrens as St John Smallwood, among others.
Miller and West, who have been friends for more than two decades, previously spoke to PEOPLE about the show and teased that it was “fun” being “nasty to each other” on-screen.
“I think the more you love someone off screen, the more fun it is to hate them on screen. So we had a lot of fun being this couple,” Miller shared, while West added, “[It] was great fun hating each other and saying horrible things to each other.”

The first episode, titled “It’s Done,” introduced the characters and their tumultuous road ahead.

There are eight episodes in season 1 of War. The legal drama was originally ordered for two seasons, so a second season is also in the works.
Prior to the first season’s release, HBO announced the second season would include Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald, David Harewood and Richard Schiff, among others.
